Vehicles » Crash Fire Tenders
Crash Fire Tenders are used for extinguishing fire in the event of air
crash. In order to avoid wasting precious seconds the run to the crash
situation across the airport must not only be as fast, but also as short as
possible whereby small obstacles, fences and hedges are driven over. The
vehicles should also be able to cross-difficult grounds at a very high
speed.
The turntable ladder, also known as an aerial ladder, or sometimes
abbreviated to simply TL is the best-known form of specialized fire
apparatus (sometimes known as a fire truck), and is used to gain access to
fires occurring at height, where conventional ladders carried on other
appliances might not reach.
The name is derived from the fact that the large ladder is mounted on a
turntable on the back of a truck or lorry, allowing it to pivot around a
stable base, which in turn allows a much greater ladder length to be
achieved). In order to increase its length, the ladder is telescopic. Almost
all modern turntable ladders are hydraulic or pneumatic in operation. A
ladder also can be mounted behind the cab. This is called "mid ship".
This arrangement allows a shorter wheel base for truck, and also can be more
stable in some conditions.

A water tender, which can also be known as a tanker truck or water bowser is
a specialist fire appliance with the primary purpose of transporting large
amounts of water to a scene. These are especially prevalent in rural areas
where fire hydrants are not readily available. The equipment available on a
water tender varies between countries and departments, but most tenders have
an on board pumping system. This pump is often not of sufficient power to
fight fires (as it is designed to be attached to a fire engine), but is more
often used to draw water in to the tender from hydrants or other water
sources. In some areas, the tenders are used to pump water during floods,
and may be fitted with a heavier duty pump for this purpose.
Most water tenders are designed to carry loads of 1000 gallons (approx.
3800 litres) or more. In the US, 1000 gallons is the requirement in the NFPA
standards[5] . Some may carry up to or even upwards of 5000 gallons (more
than 20 000 litres) of water - with a trailer even more
The Foam Tender carries 1,800 litres of fluoroprotein foam liquid and foam
making equipment. It is used when fighting fires that involve flammable
liquids, and to contain and prevent liquid spills from igniting. It also
carries high expansion foam for dealing with fires in confined and
restricted access areas, such as basements and ship holds.
Water canons provide a means for an individual to deliver massive water
streams. This feat cannot be accomplished by any other type of equipment.
Our canons are the original single flow path water cannon. Other single
waterway canons are merely imitations of our design. The sling shot design
is antiquated and highly inefficient. Although originally invented for
placer mining in Alaska, today our canons are most often used for fire
protection, dust abatement, tank & basin cleaning, and for heavy
machinery wash down. Call us with your application parameters, and well
configure your water canon and pumping system requirements to meet your
needs.

9 KL capacity refuellers to supplement the hydrant operations in the event
of unforseen emergencies and to meet refuelling demand.
Very light water tenders are sometimes used in wildfires. For example, a
small tank of 265 gallons (1000 litres) has been carried by a cross-country
vehicle to extinguish smoldering stubs on rough terrain.

Hydraulic
Operated Rescue Tools |
Hydraulic rescue tools are used by emergency rescue personnel to assist
vehicle extrication of crash victims, as well as other rescues from small
spaces. These tools include cutters, spreaders and rams.
Hydraulic rescue tools are powered by a hydraulic pump, which can be hand-,
foot-, or engine-powered, or even built into the tool itself. These tools
may be either single-acting, where hydraulic pressure will only move the
cylinder in one direction, and the return to starting position is
accomplished using a pressure-relief valve and spring setup, or dual-acting,
in which hydraulic pressure is used to both open and close the suzzette
cylinder.

Refuse (
Graphic) Collectors |
Compaction apparatus for a refuse collection vehicle provided with a body
having a hopper to receive refuse. The hopper has opposed enclosure side
walls. Hydraulic motor members are positioned adjacent the enclosure side
walls and operate a packer member which extends between the enclosure side
walls and which forces refuse from the hopper into another portion of the
body for compaction of the refuse. The hydraulic motor members are thus
positioned so that a maximum opening into the hopper is provided for
receiving the refuse and for compaction thereof, and the packer member is of
maximum length between the side walls to compact a maximum volume of refuse
in the body during each compaction cycle
